Ionia Theatre Kid's Club meets every Thursday after school
from 2:30pm - 5:00pm. If school is closed for weather conditions such as a snow day, we will not have Kid's Club.  If school is delayed for fog, but students attend in the afternoon, we will have Kid's Club.  Simplified the rule is NO SCHOOL IN THE AFTERNOON MEANS NO KID'S CLUB!

Membership is open to all kids from 3rd Grade and Up! 

What is the Ionia Theatre Kid's Club?
We are an after school group that was designed to give students a place to hang out and something to do after school. Our group is maintained by volunteers and succeeds only by the generosity of our sponsors! Volunteers work hard to plan activities that will be fun for the members currently attending. Often making changes to our routine as needed to accommodate the majority of the group. We strive to keep this group friendly and open to all ages, where youth can relax and be themselves. We do a wide variety of team building games designed to encourage cooperation and build friendships!

What do you do at Kid's Club?
We meet weekly at the theatre to have fun! We play a wide variety games including Hide & Seek, Pictionary, Theatre Seat Trivia. Occasionally we watch “PG” movies or play video games on the big screen! We plan special projects throughout the year, such as our recent Cookie Exchange & our Summer's End Sleepover. We also volunteer at several Community Events! Last summer we offered Free Face Painting to children at over 20 events. If you attended “Movies in the Park” or “Kid's Day” at the Ionia Free Fair, you probably saw our group! Check out our Events Page to learn about current events!

Who can join Kid's Club?
We accept any students above 3rd Grade and younger children if accompanied by an adult. Currently we have mostly middle school students. We also have students from Emerson, Jefferson, and Rather Elementary's. (Students from Rather can ride a bus to the theatre with prior approval.) We have recently had some Home School visitors! High school students are used as helpers and lead many of the activities. Currently we average about 25 Kid's Club Members each week!

How can you join Kid's Club?
All you have to do to join Kid's Club is show up! We do not charge any dues or require any kind of registration. You will be considered a visitor the first time you come, when you return a second time you will automatically be a member of our group.

Do you offer a snack?
Thanks to the generosity of the theatre, parents, and several community sponsors we are able to offer a free snack to everyone who attends. The snack can be anything from cookies & milk, fruits, vegetables, ice cream, to the occasional popcorn. The theatre has been gracious enough to donate pop each week! To thank the theatre for its hospitality we allow students to buy items from the concession stand during the last 5 minutes of Kid's Club to take home.
